Seeing double? Don't panic!
Occasionally our app may show duplicated transactions. There are a few reasons this may happen, follow this helpful checklist to resolve.
✅ Is the transaction showing on your online banking account?
Log in to your account via the online banking website and confirm that these duplicates are not showing on your account statement. If they are present, contact your bank or provider's Customer Care team immediately.
✅ Is the transaction marked as Pending in the Transaction inbox?
With certain providers, you may see duplicate transactions as one is listed as pending. Pending transactions aren't included in your analysis and you can leave them in your transactions inbox until your bank confirms them, to avoid needing to categorise them twice.
If these pending transactions do not clear, they will be deleted from your Transaction Inbox after a couple of days.
✅ Have you recently migrated your account?
When migrating accounts, our app is designed to learn and recognise historical transactions and categorisation. This means that transactions will be automatically categorised or split for you.
However, for some transactions, this is not possible. Rather than auto categorising these transactions and getting them wrong, it sends them through to your Transaction Inbox. This allows you to select your preferred categories.
These are not duplicate transactions and therefore will not skew your analysis.
To check if this is what has happened, go to Transactions and select the search icon. Use the drop-down menu to filter the transaction and to identify if a duplicate exists.
If none of the reasons above apply to the transaction, you can safely delete the duplicate transaction. Select the transaction you wish to delete, either by selecting it in the Transaction Inbox or by heading to the Transactions section of the app. Select the search icon and find the transaction using the drop-down menus. Once you have found your transaction, select Delete.
